Key Responsibilities of the Bar Supervisor / Mixologist
In this role, you will independently manage all aspects of the bar, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation while delivering an outstanding beverage experience. Your responsibilities include:
Bar Management and Operations
- Oversee all bar operations, including stock control, ordering, and cost management to maintain efficient and profitable bar services.
- Curate and manage a premium wine list that complements the flavors of Indian cuisine and enhances the dining experience.
- Independently craft and serve high-quality cocktails, with a special focus on drinks that harmonize with Indian spices and flavors.
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness and adhere to hygiene standards in line with UK alcohol licensing laws.
Guest Engagement and Experience
- Provide personalized drink recommendations based on guests’ preferences, creating a welcoming and memorable atmosphere.
- Engage with customers, ensuring each guest has a positive experience while enjoying their beverages.
- Handle customer inquiries and feedback with professionalism, aiming to resolve any concerns and enhance guest satisfaction.
Team Training and Leadership
- Train and mentor junior team members on bar service, cocktail making, and wine pairings, contributing to their professional development.
- Lead by example, ensuring team members maintain high standards of service and are knowledgeable about the drink menu.
Qualifications and Requirements
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced individual with a passion for mixology and Indian cuisine. The ideal candidate will have:
Experience and Skills
- Proven experience in bartending or bar management, ideally within a restaurant setting.
- Extensive knowledge of cocktails, spirits, and wines, with a particular focus on Indian-inspired drinks (e.g., lassi, traditional Indian spirits).
- A strong understanding of Indian cuisine and beverages, allowing you to craft drinks that pair seamlessly with food.
- Exceptional self-management skills, as this is a solo role where you will have full responsibility for the bar.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality service.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers and team members alike.
- Experience with bar stock control and cost management.
- A personal license to serve alcohol in the UK (or the willingness to obtain one) is an advantage.
Additional Preferences
- Experience in hospitality and customer service (at least 3 years preferred).
