Job Overview
Africhange is seeking a Cybersecurity Officer to lead and manage the security efforts that protect our organization’s information systems, networks, and data infrastructure. This role requires an experienced professional with expertise in cybersecurity, risk management, network security technologies, and compliance with industry standards and regulations within the fintech sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Security Policies: Develop, implement, and maintain security protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure data safety.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular security audits, risk analysis, and vulnerability assessments. Implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Incident Monitoring: Monitor and analyze security alerts, incidents, and breaches. Ensure effective and timely incident response.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT and development teams to ensure secure design, development, and deployment of fintech applications.
- Access Control: Oversee user authentication and access control systems, ensuring strict adherence to security protocols.
- Security Awareness: Lead training programs for employees, fostering a strong culture of security within the organization.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with GDPR, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Incident Response: Investigate security breaches and incidents, providing detailed reports and actionable recommendations.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and emerging technologies.
Network Security Responsibilities
- Network Security: Design and implement network security measures to prevent unauthorized access and ensure rapid response to threats.
- Device Configuration: Configure and maintain firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Vulnerability Testing: Conduct penetration tests and network vulnerability assessments.
- Monitoring: Monitor network activity, identifying and mitigating potential security threats.
- Incident Collaboration: Collaborate with the incident response team for security event handling.
- Policy Development: Develop and maintain network security policies and procedures for continuous improvement.
Specifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in a cybersecurity-focused role, preferably within the fintech industry.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, network security technologies, firewalls, encryption, and endpoint protection.
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with GDPR, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, and other regulatory frameworks.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or similar are highly desirable.
- Network Expertise: Proficiency in firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, network architecture, and design.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Bonus Skills: Experience with AWS technologies and Linux is a plus.
