Charles Hunter Associates is seeking dedicated Social Workers and Senior Social Workers to join their dynamic team focused on Children’s Services in Wiltshire, United Kingdom. Key Responsibilities

As a Social Worker or Senior Social Worker in this role, you will be responsible for:

Child Protection & Safeguarding

  • Manage caseloads within family safeguarding and child protection settings.

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children by applying child-centred approaches to your work.

  • Conduct assessments, identify risks, and create care plans that prioritize the child’s needs.

Supporting Families

  • Collaborate with families to create effective strategies for addressing challenges and promoting positive outcomes.

  • Provide emotional support and practical advice to families, empowering them to thrive and work towards long-term solutions.

  • Engage in ongoing assessments to monitor progress and adjust care plans where necessary.

Legislative Compliance

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest legislation and social work practices, ensuring compliance with UK regulations and best practice standards.

  • Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and safeguarding.

Case Management and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of casework, assessments, and progress reports.

  • Provide detailed reports for meetings, reviews, and court hearings when required.

  • Manage cases with a focus on safeguarding, early intervention, and proactive support.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with other Social Workers, Senior Social Workers, and external professionals to provide the best outcomes for children and families.

  • Participate in supervision and peer review to continuously improve practice and maintain high standards of care.


About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Qualifications

  • A Diploma or Degree in Social Work.

  • Registration with the Social Work England (SWE).

  • The right to work in the UK, or eligibility for Visa Sponsorship (can be transferred if you already have UK experience).

Experience and Skills

  • Post-qualification experience working within frontline teams, specifically in child protection, family safeguarding, or assessments.

  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children guidelines, and the latest safeguarding protocols.

  • Experience in managing a caseload and delivering services to children and families in need of support.

  • A caring, compassionate, and resilient approach to social work, with the ability to navigate complex situations and work under pressure.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to engage positively with families, children, and colleagues.
