Job Overview

The Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Cove Administrator to join their team at the purpose-built Macmillan Information and Support Centre, The Cove. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a vital service supporting individuals facing cancer diagnoses and providing key administrative support. This position is ideal for an experienced administrator with excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of NHS healthcare systems and processes.


Key Responsibilities

As a Cove Administrator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Macmillan Support Officers and Centre Manager, ensuring smooth daily operations at The Cove.
  • Volunteer Coordination: Work closely with Centre Volunteers to manage rotas, stock control, and maintain efficient data management.
  • Reception and Cafeteria Oversight: Occasionally cover reception and cafeteria duties, ensuring excellent service for visitors and staff.
  • Liaising with Clinical Staff: Collaborate with clinical staff at all levels to ensure smooth communication and effective service delivery.
  • Sensitive Support: Handle requests for information and support, dealing with sensitive issues and concerns raised by visitors in a compassionate and professional manner.
  • Diary and Schedule Management: Manage appointments, meetings, and other schedules for staff and the Centre, ensuring efficiency and timeliness.

Qualifications & Experience

We are looking for a candidate who meets the following qualifications and experience:

  • Essential:
    • Previous experience in a healthcare office environment.
    • RSA Stage 3 or equivalent in Typing or Word Processing.
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and computer literacy.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Desirable:
    • Knowledge of RCHT Policies and Procedures.
    • Experience in complaint handling and resolution.
    • ECDL certification or NVQ Level 3 in Administration.
