Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

1. Food Service Delivery

  • Provide a quality service of food and beverages to patients at the ward level, ensuring meals meet the required specifications and dietary needs.

  • Follow established procedures and service standards to ensure patient satisfaction and food quality.

2. Kitchen Cleaning and Hygiene Standards

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the ward kitchens.

  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety Legislation and maintain rigorous food hygiene protocols at all times.

3. Team Collaboration

  • Work closely within a team, ensuring effective communication and positive working relationships.

  • Present a professional image to both patients and visitors, upholding the Trust’s reputation for excellence.

4. Compliance and Health & Safety

  • Follow all relevant health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.

  • Ensure kitchen areas comply with food safety regulations and hospital standards.

Person Specification

Qualifications:

  • Essential:

    • Level 2 Food Safety Certificate

    • A good level of education.

  • Desirable:

    • HACCP Level 2 certification.

    • Previous experience in catering or care settings is a plus.

Experience:

  • Essential:

    • Previous catering experience, preferably within a healthcare or hospital setting.

  • Desirable:

    • Previous experience in care or NHS roles is an advantage.

Additional Requirements:

  • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check: Required for all applicants.
