Key Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc inspections to maintain track safety standards.
- Identify and manage third-party risks impacting the rail network.
- Carry out urgent repairs to ensure public and staff safety.
- Analyze inspection reports, prioritize faults, and update the management system.
- Supervise contractors, ensuring work meets required standards.
- Produce detailed work orders, reports, and recommendations for fault rectification.
- Represent TfL in stakeholder interactions and escalate issues when needed.
- Attend team meetings to present findings and discuss improvements.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical approach to problem-solving and data management.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Leadership abilities to guide team performance.
- Full UK driving license.
Essential Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of Health & Safety regulations in a railway environment.
- Familiarity with engineering and railway standards, rules, and legislation.
- Knowledge of track systems, maintenance techniques, and operational equipment.
- Experience in managing scrap materials and waste removal, including HAZMAT.
Desirable Experience:
- Holding or previously holding an inspection license (SCL T002/3).
- Knowledge of Railsys for track access requests.
- COSHH awareness, IOSH certification, or similar qualifications.
- Experience with cleaning activities and environmental improvements.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in outdoor environments, including extensive walking and exposure to environmental factors.
Working Conditions
- Schedule: Night shifts (23:00–06:30, Monday–Friday/Sunday–Thursday), with occasional day or weekend work as needed.
- This is a safety-critical role requiring Occupational Health clearance before commencement.
