Social Worker [Visa Sponsorship Available]

Job Summary

We are excited to offer a relocation package of up to £8,000 for qualified and experienced Social Workers looking to join our Wirral-based Community Mental Health Teams. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment and make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable individuals in our community.

You must have at least two years of post-qualification experience and a passion for mental health services. Applicants must hold a Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Access to reliable transport is essential for this role.

Salary: £37,338 – £44,962 per annum

Key Responsibilities

  • Case Management: Maintain a capped caseload and deliver high-quality support to individuals with complex mental health needs.
  • Legislative Compliance: Apply knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Health Act, and Mental Capacity Act to safeguard and support individuals effectively.
  • Collaboration: Work within a multidisciplinary team to develop care plans that prioritize positive change, independence, and well-being.
  • Risk Management: Conduct regular risk assessments and implement strategies to ensure the safety of service users.
  • Safeguarding: Lead in safeguarding practices and contribute to care plans that protect adults and children from harm.
  • Professional Development: Opportunity to train as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) and access ongoing training.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience working with vulnerable individuals and families.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health legislation, safeguarding practices, and care planning.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills.

Desirable:

  • Post-qualification training in relevant areas such as AMHP or Best Interests Assessor.
  • Experience working in Local Authority or multidisciplinary settings.
  • Familiarity with the Children Act 1989 and related legislation.
