Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 per annum (pro-rata for part-time)

About the Role

As a Social Worker in our multi-disciplinary community mental health team, you will:

  • Provide expert support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges linked to social stressors.
  • Apply social work interventions, including holistic assessments, psychoeducation, and crisis management.
  • Advocate for the social perspective within the team, emphasizing strength-based, relationship-driven approaches.
  • Engage in interventions like solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and Connecting People programs.
  • Collaborate with families and support carers through direct interventions and liaison with the Family Interventions Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safeguarding Lead: Manage complex safeguarding cases and act as the safeguarding link within the team.
  • Capacity Assessment: Support individuals with capacity evaluations and best-interest decisions.
  • Social Inclusion: Facilitate community connection and social integration for service users.
  • Discharge Planning: Aid individuals in achieving independence and transitioning from care.
  • Advocacy and Collaboration: Represent individuals in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and local authority discussions.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

  • Degree in Social Work (DipSW or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Thorough knowledge of mental health and safeguarding legislation.
  • Full UK driving license and vehicle for business use (adjustments considered under the Equality Act 2010).

Desirable:

  • Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) qualification.
  • Experience in forensic or secure settings.
  • Postgraduate training in areas like safeguarding, multi-agency working, or risk management.
