Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Information Analyst, you will play a crucial role in providing strategic insights and supporting data-driven decision-making within HEIW and other stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Business Intelligence Solutions:
You will be responsible for scoping, developing, and delivering Power BI business intelligence solutions that provide valuable operational insights. These solutions will be pivotal in decision-making for stakeholders across HEIW.

2. Report and Dashboard Development:
You will produce high-quality reports, dashboards, and presentations using diverse data sources. Your work will include producing workforce intelligence reports for the Welsh Government and NHS leadership teams, ensuring clear communication of complex data.

3. Data Analysis and Coordination:
Coordinating data returns from Health Boards and Trusts, analyzing data anomalies, and providing detailed datasets to stakeholders will be essential aspects of your role. You will ensure the accuracy and quality of the data being used for decision-making.

4. Performance Analysis and Benchmarking:
Your role will involve delivering performance information, trend analysis, benchmarking, and intelligence modeling to support business needs. Your insights will drive improvements in business performance and healthcare delivery.

5. Training and Development:
Developing training materials and delivering training on workforce dashboards will be key components of the role. You will help foster a culture of data literacy within HEIW, promoting the use of business intelligence products.

6. Data Audits and Error Analysis:
You will design and implement data audits, analyze data errors, and work to continuously improve information products. This will ensure the ongoing quality and reliability of the data used across the organization.

7. Stakeholder Engagement:
Building relationships with stakeholders and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams will be critical to the success of your role. You’ll ensure that data insights are aligned with the needs and expectations of the NHS and other partners.


Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant field such as computing, informatics, or mathematics (or equivalent experience).

  • Specialist knowledge of information requirements and standards within a healthcare or social care environment.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Service improvement qualification to enhance your ability to contribute to the continuous development of healthcare services.

  • Experience of working with workforce data.

Essential Experience:

  • Significant experience in an information environment, working with complex data and reporting systems.

  • Proven ability to deliver projects within deadlines, particularly in a high-pressure environment.

  • Expertise with Power BI, SQL, and DAX, as well as a practical understanding of data warehousing and relational databases.

  • Experience in developing dashboards using business intelligence tools such as Power BI.

  • Autonomous working experience, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in the healthcare or social care sector, with a focus on workforce data.

  • Welsh language skills (Level 1) or the willingness to work towards proficiency.
