Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Health Care Assistant to lead our dedicated team of care staff. In this role, you will ensure that residents receive the best care possible, maintaining their dignity, independence, and overall well-being. As the Senior Health Care Assistant, you will manage a team of Health Care Assistants, administer medication, and be responsible for maintaining accurate records while ensuring the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Care Team: Supervise and manage all care staff during your shift, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Administer Medication: Administer residents’ medication safely and accurately as per their care plans.
- Personal Care Support: Assist residents with daily personal care activities, including bathing, dressing, and eating, ensuring their dignity and comfort.
- Nutritional Assistance: Support residents with meals and drinks to ensure they maintain proper nutrition and hydration.
- Engage in Social Activities: Encourage residents to participate in social and recreational activities to enhance their quality of life.
- Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure that the care home remains a safe, secure environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Accurate Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of all care activities and interactions with residents.
- Safeguarding and Reporting: Identify and report any safeguarding concerns, ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.
- Support the Home Manager: Assist the Home Manager in daily tasks and ensure smooth running of the home.
- Accompany to Appointments: Escort residents to medical appointments as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (required)
- Experience: Minimum 1 year as a Senior Health Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Care Sector Knowledge: Strong understanding of person-centered care planning and care industry standards.
- Team Leadership: Previous experience managing care staff and rotas.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and the care team.
- Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
- Positive Energy: A caring and compassionate nature with the ability to lead by example and inspire the team.
