About the Role
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring residents receive personalized and compassionate care. Working closely with the care assistants, you will:
1. Deliver High-Quality Care
- Assist with personal care, mobility support, and medication administration.
- Observe, review, and finalize care plans to meet individual resident needs.
- Support and encourage residents to participate in social activities for overall well-being.
2. Leadership & Supervision
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior and new colleagues.
- Foster a warm and welcoming home-like atmosphere for residents and visitors.
- Ensure all care practices align with Akari Care’s values and regulatory standards.
3. Creating a Safe & Comfortable Environment
- Work collaboratively with residents, families, and team members to deliver person-centered care.
- Adapt to individual preferences and ensure a high level of dignity and respect.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and positive environment for all.
Qualifications & Skills Required
To thrive in this role, we are looking for individuals who possess:
1. Essential Skills & Experience
- A caring nature and the ability to build strong relationships with residents.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- The ability to adapt quickly to changes and work in a fast-paced environment.
- A respectful and empathetic approach, treating others with kindness and dignity.
2. Preferred Experience
- Previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant or Care Assistant looking to progress.
- A recognized care qualification (such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care) is desirable but not essential.
- Experience working within residential or nursing care homes is an advantage.
