The University of Northampton is seeking a dedicated Research Support and Bidding Officer to join its Research Support Team. This role is essential in enabling our researchers to maximize their potential by providing expert advice and guidance on securing external research funding. You will also assist in bid preparation, project budgeting, and related administrative tasks to drive successful outcomes.
Location: United Kingdom
Salary: £39,105 – £43,878 per annum
Visa Sponsorship: Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship available

Key Responsibilities
As a Research Support and Bidding Officer, your responsibilities include:
- Funding and Bid Development
- Offer specialized advice to academic and research staff on securing funding.
- Help develop research ideas into fundable, well-structured projects.
- Prepare and review bid documentation and budgets.
- Research Support
- Support researchers in identifying funding opportunities aligned with their goals.
- Ensure compliance with funding body requirements and university policies.
- Administrative Duties
- Perform desk-based research and prepare written reports or documentation.
- Utilize databases for data analysis and stakeholder relationship management.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications
- Good Honours Degree or equivalent experience.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Skills and Experience
- Understanding of the research environment in higher education.
- Proven success in bidding or tendering for research funding.
- Experience in financial systems and managing project or program budgets.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Desirable Qualifications
- Relevant vocational/professional qualification.
- Membership in a relevant professional body.
