Job Title: Theme Developer

Location: Remote (Work From Anywhere)

Role Overview:

We’re seeking a motivated individual to craft WordPress themes tailored specifically for universities and schools. The websites you’ll help develop are anticipated to attract millions of visitors annually and must adhere to the latest performance optimization standards while surpassing accessibility requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Theme Development: Build custom WordPress themes and child themes from provided designs and specs.
  • Quality Assurance: Review themes against our guidelines and approve customer theme-related pull requests.
  • Support and Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and apply patches to theme-related support tickets.
  • Coding Standards: Write code with accessibility and web standards in mind.
  • CSS Expertise: Utilize the latest CSS features (e.g., grid, flexbox, animation, SVG).
  • Performance Optimization: Ensure front-end performance optimization.
  • Plugin Modifications: Occasionally modify our existing plugins.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in CSS, Sass (SCSS), and HTML5 standards with a mobile-first approach.
  • Experience with JavaScript/REST.
  • Familiarity with automation tools like rollup.js and Gulp.
  • In-depth knowledge of PHP.Aspiration to learn best accessibility practices.
  • Experience with Git.
  • Ability to set accurate deadlines and meet them.
  • Excellent communication skills essential for remote work.
