Role Overview
Wilder World Inc. is seeking a Technical Art Director to lead its innovative art team in the computer games industry. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest quality of the game’s visual aesthetics, providing technical guidance, and developing solutions to enhance visual quality and performance. Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Direct and manage the art team, maintaining a high standard of visual aesthetics.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the game design team to provide technical guidance on new art features.
- Asset Development: Oversee the development of 3D assets including concept art, modeling, texturing, and rigging, ensuring seamless integration into the game engine.
- Innovation: Develop and implement solutions to enhance the game’s visual quality and performance.
- Documentation: Create technical documentation outlining the art team’s processes and workflows.
- Knowledge Sharing: Stay updated with the latest tools, software, and techniques, and share knowledge with the team.
- Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance reviews, offering actionable feedback to team members.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years in game development, including 2 years in a leadership role.
- Expertise in 3D modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, and rigging.
- Proficiency with Zbrush, Maya, Unreal Engine, Blender, Cinema 4D, and Substance Painter.
- Understanding of Web3 technologies.
- Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal.
- Knowledge of optimization techniques for high-quality graphics performance.
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience in managing teams of artists.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
