Job Position: Senior Revenue Accountant

Location: Fully Remote (United States)

Salary: $110,000 – $130,000/year

About the Role

As a Senior Revenue Accountant at Coalition, you will be a crucial member of the finance team, responsible for the detailed review and analysis of the company’s revenue transactions. Your role will ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies. You will collaborate closely with sales, operations, and IT to streamline revenue processes and support financial reporting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Revenue Management: Own day-to-day revenue activities to ensure the policy premium amount and term accuracy, and set up revenue recognition properly in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and journal entries for month-end close.
  • Process Improvement: Identify potential process improvements and document process control procedures.
  • Project Participation: Participate in revenue projects related to system automation and implementation.
  • User Acceptance Testing: Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new products and programs.
  • Audit Support: Prepare support for monthly close packages and internal/external quarterly audit requests, and assist with audit inquiries and supporting document preparation.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Support the revenue/accounting team with various projects as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2+ years of direct revenue recognition experience in a high-growth environment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in finance or business preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Thorough understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition standards and working experience with revenue recognition software like NetSuite ARM.
  • Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and critical analytical skills with the ability to apply various formulas to analyze large databases.
  • Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail-Oriented: High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Preferred Credentials: CPA or CPA candidate, and experience working for a publicly traded company.
  • Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently or in cooperation with others.

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The US base salary for this position ranges from $110,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $130,000/year in our highest geographic market. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee’s pay within this range is based on a number of factors, including relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location.
