Role Overview:
The Customer Care Representative is integral to our client’s mission of providing transparent, compassionate, and high-quality services to grieving families. In this remote role, you will assist clients through their end-of-life service decisions, explain cremation and memorial options, and provide continuous support throughout the process. You’ll engage with families in a respectful, non-pressuring way, ensuring they feel supported and informed.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM PST
Work Environment: Remote (Work from home)
Key Responsibilities
As a Customer Care Representative, you will have the unique opportunity to support families during one of the most sensitive times in their lives. Your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Empathetic Customer Support
- Receive and Manage Calls: You’ll be the first point of contact for families, offering empathetic and compassionate support as they navigate the complexities of end-of-life arrangements.
- Provide Emotional Support: Offer comforting, non-judgmental assistance to grieving families, making them feel understood and supported.
2. Service Coordination and Inquiry Management
- Explain Services: Clearly communicate available cremation and memorial services, including pricing, options, and procedures.
- Service Recommendations: Offer professional recommendations to help families select the best options for their needs, ensuring they understand every step of the process.
3. Process Guidance
- Provide Clarity: Walk families through the cremation process, addressing their questions and concerns with accurate, respectful, and informative responses.
- Handle Complex Inquiries: Ensure that clients receive detailed and transparent answers, building trust in the company’s services.
4. Follow-Up & Ongoing Engagement
- Conduct Follow-Ups: Follow up with families via phone, text, and email to ensure they are informed and engaged throughout the process.
- Update Clients: Ensure families are kept up to date with progress and additional service offerings available to them.
Key Qualifications and Skills
This role requires individuals who are not only organized but also have strong empathy and communication skills. While we value experience in customer service and sales, what matters most is your ability to connect with people during a sensitive time.
Ideal Candidate Attributes:
- Exceptional Hospitality Skills: Experience in hospitality or customer service roles where building trust and rapport is essential. You must be able to offer compassionate, clear, and reliable communication.
- Consultative Sales Ability: Comfortably guide families from initial inquiry through decision-making, without using high-pressure tactics. Your focus will be on helping families make informed, thoughtful decisions.
- Organized & Detail-Oriented: Manage multiple cases, adhering to regulatory standards and ensuring accurate follow-through with every family you assist.
- Crisis Management Skills: Experience in fields that require sensitivity, such as social work, healthcare, or crisis management, is highly preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years in customer service, hospitality, or sales roles where handling delicate, nuanced situations is essential.
