About the Role
The Accounts Receivable Specialist at Prompt RCM plays a critical role in our revenue cycle management team. This position ensures accurate, compliant, and timely billing and reimbursement of multi-specialty medical professional services from diverse insurance payers and patients. Key responsibilities include managing re-billing, payment posting, contractual write-offs, adjustments, and appeals, adhering to multi-state and federal insurance regulations.
Job Position: Accounts Receivable Specialist
Location: Remote (United States)
Salary: $28.37 – $31.25 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Claims Resubmission: Prepare and resubmit corrected claims to various insurance companies, ensuring adherence to payer guidelines and contractual requirements.
- Claims Analysis: Analyze first pass rejected claims for completeness and accuracy to minimize reimbursement delays.
- Follow-Up: Research and follow-up on the status of primary and secondary billing claims to resolve outstanding issues.
- Appeals Processing: Review and process claim appeals, resubmitting with accurate supporting documentation to maximize reimbursement.
- Account Evaluation: Assess customer accounts and recommend adjustments or write-offs based on collectability.
- Issue Reporting: Identify and report billing problems or discrepancies to management for proactive resolution.
- Patient Statements: Generate and distribute monthly patient balance due statements to facilitate timely resolution of outstanding balances.
Requirements
- Experience: 1-3 years in medical insurance claims billing and collections preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google for Business, MS Office, Excel, and Word.
- Preferred Experience: Familiarity with physical therapy EMR systems.
- Attitude: Customer success-oriented mindset.
- Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
