Role Overview: Registered Nurse in Critical Care

Are you a motivated Registered Nurse who wants to develop your career within critical care? Join our compassionate team at William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, Kent, where we are looking for full-time and part-time Registered Nurses for our busy, mixed-level critical care unit. The unit provides care to a wide variety of specialties, including maxillo-facial surgery and pPCI, covering Kent.

We are offering a relocation package for eligible candidates and Certificate of Sponsorship for skilled workers who meet the criteria.

Key Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse in our Critical Care department, you will:

1. Deliver Holistic Patient Care

  • Provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

  • Take responsibility for the care and wellbeing of patients, ensuring their comfort and safety.

2. Support Patient Care in a Range of Specialties

  • Care for patients from various specialties including emergency and elective surgeries.

  • Manage patients admitted for maxillo-facial surgery, pPCI, and other critical interventions.

3. Engage in Professional Development

  • Participate in a tailored education package offered by our Critical Care Education team, who will guide you through a structured development program.

  • Opportunities to expand your knowledge through partnerships with Canterbury Christchurch University and the University of Greenwich.

Qualifications & Skills Required

Essential Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration.

  • Strong clinical experience within an acute healthcare setting, ideally in critical or intensive care.

  • Ability to demonstrate a patient-focused approach in the delivery of evidence-based care.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Mentor Qualification or ENB 998 (Teaching qualification).

  • Completed Preceptorship program (if applicable).

  • Adult Intensive Care Course or equivalent.

  • Experience in a Band 5 role within a critical care setting is a plus.

Clinical Skills & Experience

  • Proven ability to deliver evidence-based practice in a clinical setting.

  • Experience facilitating learning in practice and supporting junior colleagues.

  • Active participation in personal and professional development initiatives.

Personal Attributes

  • Strong time management skills and personal organization.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
