As part of the newly established Single Corporate Services Division, you will play a pivotal role in streamlining our recruitment processes. You’ll support both hiring managers and candidates through every stage of recruitment, helping to fill vacancies efficiently and effectively.


Key Responsibilities

As a Recruitment Coordinator, you will be responsible for a range of duties that support the full recruitment process, from initial job postings to candidate onboarding. Your role will include:

  • Recruitment Advisory & Administration Support:
    You will act as a key contact for recruitment processes, providing expert guidance and administrative support to managers across the organization. Your duties will include managing job postings, scheduling interviews, and coordinating with hiring teams to ensure compliance with Trust policies and procedures.

  • Recruitment Account Management:
    You will oversee recruitment activity for specific teams or departments, ensuring that each recruitment process is handled efficiently and in line with the Trust’s goals. You will work closely with managers to understand their staffing needs and ensure timely and effective hiring.

  • Ensuring Compliance & Legal Adherence:
    You will ensure all recruitment processes comply with NHS Employers guidelines and relevant legislation, such as the Equality Act 2010. This includes ensuring that right-to-work checks and Certificate of Sponsorship applications are correctly handled.

  • Onboarding & Candidate Engagement:
    A key part of your role will be ensuring a smooth and engaging onboarding process for all new hires. This includes managing pre-employment checks, reviewing recruitment paperwork for compliance, and maintaining clear communication with candidates throughout the hiring process.

  • Data Reporting & Analysis:
    You will provide robust reporting on recruitment activity, including vacancy data and trend analysis. This will help the Trust improve its recruitment processes and track performance against recruitment goals.

  • Responding to Enquiries:
    You will be the first point of contact for prospective candidates, answering questions related to terms and conditions, recruitment timelines, and the application process.

  • Collaboration Across Trusts:
    The role will involve working across both Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. You may be required to undertake business travel between sites, so flexibility and effective communication will be essential in ensuring smooth recruitment processes.

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience:

Essential Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 4 in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.

Essential Experience:

  • Previous experience working in an office or HR environment.

  • Experience of managing recruitment processes, ideally within a large, complex organization.

  • Familiarity with recruitment protocols and procedures in line with NHS standards.

  • Experience in a customer-focused environment, demonstrating strong communication skills.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.

  • Experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) is highly desirable.

  • Understanding of NHS recruitment guidelines and employment legislation, including equality and diversity regulations.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working with ESR (Electronic Staff Record) or a similar computerized personnel system.

  • Ability to manage multiple recruitment processes simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
