About the Role
The Project Support Officer will be a key part of the West Midlands Cancer Alliance team, assisting in delivering the strategic goals of the NHS Cancer Programme. Working within a collaborative environment, you will provide vital support to project managers and staff across various cancer care projects, ensuring their smooth delivery and overall success.
The position requires a strong understanding of project management, data analysis, and stakeholder communication. You will work on a variety of cancer-related initiatives, helping to improve the experience of patients and healthcare providers.
This full-time, permanent role offers the opportunity to work remotely, with travel required across the West Midlands region.
Key Responsibilities
Analytical & Judgemental Responsibilities
- Analyze complex data and reports related to cancer care projects, ensuring accuracy and actionable insights.
- Update, maintain, and organize project information, providing necessary analysis to support decision-making.
- Participate in relevant meetings, offering advice and information based on your analysis and expertise.
Communication & Collaboration
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and effective project coordination.
- Contribute to the development and dissemination of both internal and external communications, keeping all parties informed of project progress.
- Develop and implement data collection systems to support accurate project reporting.
Information Management & Reporting
- Enhance existing information management systems to improve decision-making processes and project delivery.
- Gather and organize data to predict and meet the needs of the organization, identifying best practices within the sector.
- Work with team members to ensure timely, accurate reporting of project metrics and outcomes.
Key Working Relationships
- Maintain strong relationships with a range of stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration and information sharing.
- Participate in working groups and projects that involve complex or sensitive data, providing support where required.
- Ensure that project outcomes are accurately reported to key stakeholders, supporting continuous improvement across the system.
About You: Qualifications & Experience
Essential Qualifications
- A degree-level qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent experience in a similar project management or healthcare role.
- Project management certification or relevant experience supporting project and financial management processes.
- A background in health services evaluation, with a comprehensive understanding of project management and health information systems.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Experience in evaluating and measuring health services performance and understanding the complexities of healthcare delivery.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project and other project management tools, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- A keen attention to detail, capable of extracting key messages from complex data and analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to support project management processes and deliver successful outcomes.
