Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a transformative initiative focused on streamlining referrals across its Operational Delivery Network (ODN). This high-impact Band 7 role offers the chance to shape patient access strategies, delivering equitable, safe, and efficient care across Urology and Gynae services. Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Project Management

  • Lead the programme for implementing a Single Point of Access (SPA) for patient referrals into Urology and Gynaecology services within the ODN.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and partner organisations to test, plan, and implement service transformation.
  • Oversee project lifecycle: scoping, planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and manage effective relationships across multi-disciplinary clinical and operational teams.
  • Facilitate collaboration between internal departments and external partners.
  • Present project updates, benefits, and feedback to the Group Director and Operational Delivery Board.

Data & Impact Analysis

  • Measure and report project impact across the network.
  • Track deliverables using KPIs and performance indicators.
  • Develop and test evidence-based interventions to support future business cases and expansion.

Programme Integration

  • Ensure that the SPA project aligns with the wider goals of Barts Health NHS Trust.
  • Evaluate success metrics, report outcomes, and guide sustainability and scalability efforts.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

Education & Training

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.

Project Delivery Experience

  • Proven experience managing complex healthcare projects.
  • Demonstrated success operating in politically sensitive environments.
  • Familiarity with public sector frameworks and NHS operational standards.

Analytical & Communication Skills

  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Ability to produce concise, insightful communications.
  • Skilled in handling contentious or sensitive stakeholder discussions.

Planning & Autonomy

  • Capable of leading projects independently while managing shifting priorities.
  • Proven ability to deliver results on time and within budget.

Desirable Qualifications & Skills

  • Postgraduate qualification in project management or a healthcare-related discipline.
  • Knowledge of Somerset Cancer Registry or other clinical data systems.
  • Experience with budget monitoring, invoice processing, and procurement.
  • Leadership experience, especially managing cross-functional teams.
