Key Responsibilities

As a Project Manager, your duties will include:

  • Project Planning & Initiation:
    • Develop and obtain approval for service user briefs and Project Initiation Documents (PIDs).
    • Ensure compliance with Healthcare standards (HTMs and HBNs).
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Work with engineering estates officers, external consultants, and other professionals to deliver value-driven solutions.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Provide expert guidance on construction legislation, including Building Regulations, Firecode, Planning Applications, Equality Act, and CDM Regulations.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Establish effective project management structures and appoint key team members.
    • Implement governance procedures to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you’ll need:

Essential Qualifications

  • A degree in Building Surveying, Construction, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of construction processes, including new builds and refurbishments.

Essential Experience

  • Direct experience managing construction projects valued between £500,000 and £4 million.
  • A solid understanding of planning and construction regulations.
  • Proven ability to oversee budget management and timelines.

Essential Skills

  • Strong grasp of construction-related legislation, including Firecode, CDM Regulations, and Building Regulations.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

  • Prince 2 Foundation & Practitioner certification.
  • Membership in a professional body such as RICS, RIBA, or CIOB.
