Program Highlights
Successful candidates will participate in an integrated development program designed to promote growth from a Band 6 post-registration pharmacist to a Band 7 clinical pharmacist, contingent upon completion of training requirements and a portfolio submission. The program also includes the opportunity to pursue a prescribing qualification and practice as a non-medical prescriber.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Pharmacy Service: Provide expert advice to medical and nursing staff on safe and effective medication use.
- Training & Development: Engage in a comprehensive training program, including the Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice at the University of Bradford, supported by in-house mentoring.
- Pharmacist Prescribing: Participate in initiatives to expand pharmacist prescribing within the hospital.
- Patient Care: Facilitate medication reconciliation, discharge planning, and patient counseling, supported by a skilled team of technicians and assistants.
- Rotational Experience: Upon fulfilling training milestones, transition to a Band 7 clinical pharmacist role with opportunities for specialized rotations.
Requirements
- Education: MPharm degree or equivalent.
- Registration: Must be a registered pharmacist or a trainee eligible for registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) before starting.
- Experience: Demonstrated pharmacy experience as a trainee or licensed pharmacist. Hospital pharmacy experience is a plus.
- Skills: Proven ability to follow protocols, engage in continuous professional development, and take initiative in previous roles.
