As part of this growth, York St John University is now seeking to hire a Lecturer in Data & Computer Science to join their team. The Role
This position provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced academic or practitioner to join a vibrant and growing team in the School of Science, Technology & Health. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of the BSc Computing for Industry program, with a focus on modules in Mobile App Development, Cyber Security, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Database Systems and Programming.
Key responsibilities include:

Teaching Excellence: Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and assessments at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will employ a variety of teaching methods, including traditional lectures, seminars, online learning, and blended learning approaches, to ensure diverse learning styles are catered to.

Curriculum Development: Participate in the ongoing review and development of the curriculum, ensuring that the content remains current and aligned with industry standards.

Research & Scholarly Activity: Engage in research, contributing to the development of your academic field and the university’s research profile. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to external activities such as external examining or representation at national conferences.

Postgraduate Supervision: Supervise postgraduate students, supporting their academic journey and helping them excel in their chosen areas of study.

Community Engagement: Contribute to the wider university community by supporting recruitment efforts, attending open days, and representing the university at academic and professional events.

Key Responsibilities
The Lecturer in Data & Computer Science will:

Required Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following essential criteria:
Teaching Experience

A strong background in higher education teaching, or equivalent professional practice in relevant fields such as data science, computer science, or software engineering.

Subject Knowledge and Research
