About the Role
As a Lecturer at UCL’s Department of Experimental Psychology, you will be responsible for teaching undergraduate psychology students in the BSc/MSci Psychology program. The position entails a range of teaching, administrative, and scholarly duties, designed to enhance the overall student learning experience. Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching and Learning

Lead the development and enhancement of the academic skills seminar curriculum for Year 2 students, fostering peer-learning and community building.

Manage and mentor a large team of postgraduate teaching assistants (PGTAs), providing them with regular training on facilitating seminars, using learning resources, and offering constructive feedback on student assessments.

Deliver high-quality lectures and small-group teaching sessions in core undergraduate psychology courses.

Design, assess, and deliver effective teaching materials that encourage student engagement and academic success.
2. Academic and Administrative Duties

Oversee the planning and administration of undergraduate courses, including course development, delivery, and assessment.

Collaborate with faculty members to continuously enhance the curriculum and adopt new pedagogical methods.

Provide feedback to students on their academic progress and offer additional support where needed.

Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum planning, and academic service delivery.
3. Scholarship and Research

Dedicate 15% of your time to scholarship and research activities, ensuring that research feeds into the development of your teaching.

About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
Essential Qualifications and Skills

A PhD in Psychology or an equivalent qualification (or expected completion before the start of the post).

Proven experience in teaching psychology at the undergraduate level, with a focus on creating inclusive, student-centered learning environments.

Sound knowledge of core psychology curricula and the ability to teach both theoretical and practical aspects of psychology.
