Job Summary
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is seeking an ambitious, motivated I.T. Systems Manager to join the Critical Care and Major Trauma Directorate at the University Hospital of Wales. As an I.T. Systems Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and management of bespoke I.T. systems, ensuring optimal use, security, and functionality. Key Responsibilities include managing critical systems, coordinating training for staff, providing troubleshooting expertise, and supporting key audits, including ICNARC and NMTR.
Key Responsibilities
I.T. System Management and Development

Lead the development and implementation of I.T. infrastructure across the Critical Care and Major Trauma Directorate.

Project management of I.T. systems upgrades, installations, and software implementations, ensuring timely completion and minimal disruption to operations.

Provide specialised support and troubleshooting for critical I.T. systems, including bespoke hardware and software packages.

Implement and manage security protocols to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive health data.
Business Information and Audit Support

Support clinical and scientific audits, such as ICNARC and NMTR, ensuring that data is accurate and up-to-date.

Assist with the creation and delivery of business intelligence reports and data analysis to inform key healthcare decisions.

Provide ongoing guidance on information security and best practices for handling sensitive data.
Training and User Support

Develop and deliver training sessions to staff on the use of new I.T. systems, ensuring effective and efficient use across the directorate.

Required Qualifications and Experience
Essential Qualifications
