Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and competent Home Care Support Worker to provide high-quality care for individuals living in their own homes. If you have at least one year of experience in care work (whether in a care home or community-based setting), excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping others, we want to hear from you. The ideal candidate will live in or near Saxmundham, or be willing to travel to the area.


Key Responsibilities

Personal Care and Support

  • Assist clients with personal care needs, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times.
  • Support with mobility and help clients access the community, enabling them to live more independently.
  • Provide companionship while maintaining professional boundaries, ensuring clients feel valued and supported.

Medication and Health Support

  • Administer medication as prescribed, following care plans and health protocols.
  • Support clients with prescribed exercise regimes to aid recovery and improve their well-being.
  • Be prepared to respond to emergency situations, such as falls or sudden illnesses, ensuring appropriate action is taken.

Day-to-Day Tasks

  • Assist with daily activities such as shopping and light housework, helping clients maintain their homes.
  • Ensure all care records are factual, accurate, and up to date, completing daily care reports and incident logs.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure that care and support plans are being achieved and clients’ needs are met.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • GCSEs or equivalent (preferred).
  • A driving licence and access to a vehicle is required for this role.

Experience

  • A minimum of one year’s experience in a care-related role, whether in a care home or community-based setting.
  • Experience assisting individuals with personal care and daily tasks is essential.

Desirable Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health and Social Care (preferred but not essential).

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with clients in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative when required.
  • Compassionate, reliable, and trustworthy, with a strong desire to help others.

To be considered for this role, applicants should be able to meet the following criteria:

  • Available to work alternate weekends.
  • Hold a driving licence and have access to a personal vehicle.
  • Ideally, you will possess an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (though not essential).

  • This role requires the ability to work flexibly and independently, providing high-quality support to clients in their homes.
