Key Responsibilities
Patient Care:
- Deliver high-quality, person-centered care that maintains dignity and equality for all patients.
- Assist with personal care tasks, including washing, dressing, bathing, toileting, and medication monitoring.
- Perform patient observations (e.g., temperature, pulse, and respiration) after receiving appropriate training.
- Recognize and respond effectively to urgent and emergency situations.
Domestic Support:
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for service users.
- Prepare meals, handle essential cleaning tasks, and assist with shopping or bill payments as required.
Social and Enabling Care:
- Empower service users to maintain independence by supervising, coaching, and supporting them in their daily activities.
- Accompany and assist service users with appointments, community outings, and other events.
Communication and Coordination:
- Communicate effectively with service users and their families, maintaining confidentiality and respect.
- Participate in mealtime support by ensuring service users have a conducive environment for their meals.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Experience in Personal Care: Knowledge of tasks such as bathing, dressing, and medication assistance.
- Domestic and Practical Skills: Ability to maintain a tidy environment and assist with household tasks.
- Empathy and Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to connect with service users and their families.
- Physical Capability: Ability to assist with moving and handling service users safely, following organizational policies.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Commitment to delivering inclusive care that respects diversity and personal needs.
