About the Role

As part of the Mental Health Care Team, you will assist registered practitioners in implementing and delivering care services aligned with patients’ individualized care plans.

Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist with personal care, nutritional needs, and physical and emotional support for patients.
- Communication: Accurately report any changes in patients’ conditions to the named nurse.
- Supervision: Work under the guidance of registered staff to uphold nursing standards.
- Administrative Tasks: Safeguard patient records and property in compliance with Trust policies.
- Escort Duties: Accompany patients to community appointments or other healthcare facilities.
- Environment Maintenance: Contribute to creating a safe and comfortable setting for patients and staff.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Education: NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
- Experience: 2–3 years of experience working with individuals with mental health needs.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with the Mental Health Act (MHA) 1983, mental health treatments, and relevant medications.
- Skills:
- Effective listening and communication (verbal and written).
- Adaptability to changing ward situations.
- Compassionate and patient-focused mindset.
Desirable Qualifications & Skills
- Training in Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression.
- Experience using RiO Electronic Patient Records.
