Key Responsibilities of a Health Care Assistant

As a Health Care Assistant, you will support healthcare professionals in providing high-quality care to patients. Your role will involve assisting with daily tasks, monitoring patients’ conditions, and offering emotional support to both patients and their families.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting Healthcare Professionals: Supporting doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff in providing effective care to patients.
  • Monitoring Vital Signs: Taking and recording important health data such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rate.
  • Patient Mobility and Transfers: Assisting patients with mobility, including transferring from beds to wheelchairs or helping them walk.
  • Personal Hygiene Care: Providing personal hygiene assistance such as bathing, dressing, and oral care.
  • Meal Preparation and Feeding Assistance: Helping patients with meal preparation and assisting those who need help feeding.
  • Condition Monitoring: Observing and reporting any changes in the patient’s physical or emotional condition to the healthcare team.

Skills and Qualifications Required for Health Care Assistants
