Key Responsibilities

Providing High-Quality Care

  • Personal Care: Assist with washing, dressing, bathing, and toileting, ensuring customers’ personal hygiene needs are met with dignity and respect.
  • Medication Assistance: Monitor and assist with medication, ensuring customers follow their prescribed medication schedules.

Social Support and Domestic Duties

  • Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook meals for customers, ensuring they receive nutritious and tailored food to meet their needs.
  • Domestic Tasks: Assist with essential cleaning, shopping, bill payment, and fire maintenance to help customers maintain a clean and safe living environment.

Enabling and Empowering Customers

  • Promote Independence: Encourage and coach customers to be as independent as possible, providing support for activities such as supervision and assistance with day-to-day tasks.
  • Accompanying Customers: Escort and support customers to appointments, social outings, and other events, helping them to maintain social connections and access essential services.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Family and Care Team Engagement: Work closely with unpaid carers (e.g., family members or friends) and other healthcare professionals to ensure the customer’s needs are met effectively.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of care and promptly report any changes or concerns about a customer’s condition.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for dedicated, caring individuals with experience in home care who can work effectively as part of a team while delivering high standards of care. To succeed in this role, you must be compassionate, reliable, and able to handle the physical and emotional demands of providing home care.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience in Home Care: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a home care setting is preferred.
  • Driving License: A valid UK driving license is required, as this role involves travelling to different locations to provide care.
  • GCSE or Equivalent: An educational qualification such as a GCSE or equivalent is preferred.
  • English Language: Proficiency in English is essential for clear communication with customers and colleagues.

Skills and Attributes

  • Compassionate and Caring Nature: You must be kind, patient, and understanding when working with customers.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with customers, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with other team members to provide the best care possible.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure all care tasks are carried out accurately and in line with care plans and policies.
