About the Role
As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality care to our residents. You will be responsible for supporting individuals with their personal care needs, following care plans, and working closely with the senior staff and nursing team to ensure the best possible care outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Personal Care Support
- Assist residents with their personal care, ensuring they maintain dignity and respect at all times.
- Support with daily activities, including assistance with toileting, dental hygiene, and bathing when required.
Meal Support and Dietary Understanding
- Support residents with meals and assist in understanding dietary needs and nutritional requirements specific to each individual.
Documentation and Reporting
- Complete daily care documentation and report any changes in resident health or behavior to senior staff.
- Carry out tasks as directed by the nurse or senior staff on duty, ensuring proper care is delivered at all times.
Training and Compliance
- Complete all mandatory training to ensure up-to-date knowledge and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Ensure that all tasks are performed in accordance with the care home policies and procedures.
Required Skills and Experience
We’re looking for a Health Care Assistant with the following skills and qualifications:
Essential Requirements
- Experience in a care environment is preferred but not essential. We offer full training to help you succeed in your role.
- A DBS check will be required before you can start the role.
- GCSEs or equivalent qualifications are preferred, but not mandatory.
- Ability to communicate in English clearly and effectively.
Desirable Attributes
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting (1 year preferred).
- A driving license and reliable transport is beneficial for commuting.
Work Schedule and Shifts
This role offers a 12-hour shift schedule with the following shift types:
- Day shift
- Night shift
- Weekend availability
Each shift includes a 1-hour unpaid break, ensuring that you have the opportunity to rest and recharge.
