Key Responsibilities

As the Head of Registry Services, you will play a pivotal role in the overall operation of the Academic Registry. Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Leadership and Management

  • Lead and develop the Registry Services team to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

  • Provide strategic and operational direction for the Registry Services, including student records, academic timetabling, registration, and student conduct processes.

  • Work closely with the Academic Registrar and senior leadership to shape a cohesive approach to student services.

2. Student Experience and Support

  • Oversee student enrollment, registration, and the management of academic records to ensure a seamless and efficient experience for all students.

  • Manage the integration of student services, ensuring that all departments work together to provide support that enhances the student journey from application through to graduation.

  • Address student complaints and ensure processes are in place for the fair and timely resolution of student concerns.

3. Data Management and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate student data and records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies.

  • Develop reports and analytics on student performance and engagement, providing insights to improve the student experience.

  • Lead the management of academic timetabling, ensuring that courses, lectures, and exams are scheduled effectively and efficiently.

4. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

  • Promote and maintain an inclusive and diverse student environment, ensuring that all students, regardless of background, have equal access to support services.

  • Work with other senior leaders to foster a culture of diversity and inclusion within the academic community.


Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will need to meet the following criteria:

1. Experience in Higher Education

  • Significant experience in higher education student support or registry services, preferably in a leadership role.

  • Proven ability to manage complex student-related administrative functions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

2. Leadership and Team Management

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, manage, and develop teams effectively.

  • Experience in strategic planning and resource management to ensure the smooth operation of student services.

3. Knowledge of Regulatory Requirements

  • A deep understanding of higher education regulations, data protection, and compliance with legal requirements in managing student records.

  • Experience with UKVI regulations and experience with student visa sponsorship would be advantageous.

4. Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

  • A strong commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the academic environment.

  • Experience in working with students from diverse backgrounds and the ability to adapt services to meet their needs.

5. Excellent Communication Skills
