Position: Financial Analyst

Salary: £33,232 – £36,924 per annum + relocation assistance where applicable

Key Responsibilities
As a Financial Analyst, you’ll play a crucial role in managing financial operations and providing actionable insights. Responsibilities include:
- Monthly Reporting: Prepare detailed financial reports for Accommodation, Catering & Events, Nursery, Print, and UOG Commercial. Present findings to key stakeholders and support data-driven decisions.
- Financial Integrity: Ensure the accuracy of financial data in the Agresso accounting system through reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Budgeting & Planning: Support the Senior Financial Analyst with budget preparation, challenging proposals, and delivering clear commentary.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Provide financial advice to non-finance staff, ensuring alignment with financial policies and procedures.
- Residences Investment Plan: Oversee financial analysis and reporting, ensuring accurate forecasting and compliance.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of enhanced financial reporting structures and processes.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential Knowledge:
- Membership of a recognized accounting body (CIMA/ACCA or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of business processes, management information systems, and management accounting principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Desirable Knowledge:
- Degree in a related discipline or a postgraduate qualification.
- Familiarity with financial governance in the higher education sector.
Essential Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex data to non-financial audiences.
- Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities with a focus on problem-solving.
- Advanced IT skills, including data manipulation and reporting using industry-standard accounting software.
Essential Experience:
- Extensive experience in financial roles within large organizations.
- Proven track record of collaborating with stakeholders to enhance decision-making through financial insights.
- Experience in financial risk management and process improvement.
