Job Summary
Devon Partnership NHS Trust is seeking motivated Facilities Assistants to join the team at Langdon Hospital, Dawlish. Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Facilities Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
1. Cleaning Duties
-
Carry out cleaning tasks within the allocated department, following departmental cleaning schedules and National Cleaning Standards.

Perform specialist cleaning tasks as required by Infection Control guidelines.
2. Portering and Equipment Checks
-
Assist with light portering duties as needed.

Conduct equipment checks, ensuring health and safety regulations are followed.
3. Waste Disposal
-
Ensure correct segregation and disposal of waste according to Trust policy.
4. Food and Beverage Services
-
Regenerate and serve food, including beverage preparation.

Support food service operations, ensuring high standards of hygiene and food safety.
5. Linen Distribution and Laundry Duties
-
Distribute and collect linen across wards and departments.

Carry out laundry tasks as part of the hospital’s operations.
6. Health and Safety Compliance

Complete paperwork in accordance with Trust and departmental procedures.

Assist with health, safety, and hygiene checks, ensuring compliance with regulations.
7. Training and Development

Engage in relevant training programs and courses to enhance skills and meet role requirements.

Physical Skills:

Essential: Moderate physical abilities required for cleaning, food service, and portering duties.

Desirable: Experience in hospital cleaning techniques and food hygiene/safety practices.
Planning and Organisational Skills:

Knowledge and Qualifications:

Essential: QCF Level 2 or equivalent in hospitality/cleaning and support services, or willingness to work towards achieving qualification.
