Job Description: Key Responsibilities
As an Experienced Social Worker at Wirral Council, you will:

Support Personalisation and Inclusion Pathways: Focus on providing tailored support for adults and carers, ensuring compliance with the legal framework of the Care Act (2014).

Work in a Multi-Agency Setting: Collaborate with other professionals across the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC), and Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) to deliver effective safeguarding services.

Conduct Safeguarding Enquiries: Undertake assessments for adults at risk of abuse or neglect, ensuring swift and personalized responses in line with Adult Safeguarding policies.

Promote Self-Determination and Autonomy: Support adults, families, and carers in promoting choice, control, and self-determination.

Collaborate with Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT): Work within a person-centered team, ensuring safety and meeting care needs effectively while respecting the individual’s unique circumstances.

Community Engagement: Participate in community forums and initiatives to promote positive social work practices and engage in leadership development.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, applicants should meet the following qualifications and experience:
- Registered with Social Work England – Required for all applicants.
- Experience Supporting Adults and Carers: Proven track record in social work, particularly with older adults, physical and mental health social care.
- Knowledge of Relevant Legislation: A thorough understanding of the Care Act (2014), Mental Capacity Act (2005), Equality Act (2010), and Human Rights Act (1998).
- DBS Check: Enhanced check required.
