Job Description: Responsibilities of an Early Years Educator
As an Early Years Educator at Maryam’s Nursery, you will be responsible for providing a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for young children. You will play a key role in their development and will be expected to create fun and educational activities that support their learning at different stages. Below are the key responsibilities you will have in your role:
Key Responsibilities

Plan and Implement Activities: Prepare and complete educational activities based on children’s stages of development and their individual interests. Activities should be stimulating, creative, and aligned with the learning objectives.

Collaborate with Parents and Carers: Develop strong partnerships with parents and carers, providing them with regular updates on their child’s development and learning. Your communication skills will be key to building trust and fostering a collaborative relationship.

Support Children’s Learning: Provide a positive and enriching learning environment that supports children’s emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development. Encourage children to engage with new experiences and challenges.

Safeguard the Children: Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and you will be expected to stay vigilant.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with other early years practitioners and colleagues to create a supportive and fun working environment. Contribute to planning and evaluation of activities and always be willing to share knowledge and support others.

Requirements: Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and dedicated individual who has a passion for early years education and who aligns with our values of collaboration, inclusivity, and fun. To be considered for this role, you should meet the following requirements:
Essential Qualifications

NVQ Level 2 or Equivalent Certification in Early Years: You should hold a recognised qualification in Early Years Education, such as NVQ Level 2 or a similar certification.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a nursery or early years setting, where you have had direct experience with children and contributed to their developmental progress.

Passionate About Education: A genuine passion for working with children, supporting their development, and ensuring they have the best start in life.
Desirable Skills

Qualified Early Years Educator (L3/L6, QTS, EYTS): While not essential, this qualification would be advantageous for career progression and development.

Can-Do Attitude: A proactive and adaptable approach to your work. We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, eager to learn, and able to handle challenges with a positive mindset.

References and DBS Check: You must be able to provide suitable references and undergo an enhanced DBS check.
