Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Companionship: Offer emotional support and create a positive, engaging environment.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences.
- Medication Management: Support clients in adhering to prescribed treatments.
- Mobility Assistance: Help clients move safely, utilizing proper lifting techniques.
- Activity Engagement: Promote mental and physical well-being through stimulating activities, particularly for clients with dementia.
- Transportation: Drive clients to appointments or social events as required.
- Emergency Care: Administer first aid when necessary and ensure overall safety.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of care and report any changes in client conditions.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience in home care, nursing homes, or hospice settings (preferred).
- First aid knowledge or certifications (essential).
- Ability to perform tasks involving heavy lifting safely.
- Experience with dementia care and dietary-specific meal preparation (beneficial).
- Valid driving licence (required for transporting clients).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
