Key Responsibilities

  • Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Companionship: Offer emotional support and create a positive, engaging environment.
  • Meal Preparation: Prepare meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences.
  • Medication Management: Support clients in adhering to prescribed treatments.
  • Mobility Assistance: Help clients move safely, utilizing proper lifting techniques.
  • Activity Engagement: Promote mental and physical well-being through stimulating activities, particularly for clients with dementia.
  • Transportation: Drive clients to appointments or social events as required.
  • Emergency Care: Administer first aid when necessary and ensure overall safety.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of care and report any changes in client conditions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience in home care, nursing homes, or hospice settings (preferred).
  • First aid knowledge or certifications (essential).
  • Ability to perform tasks involving heavy lifting safely.
  • Experience with dementia care and dietary-specific meal preparation (beneficial).
  • Valid driving licence (required for transporting clients).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
