Key Responsibilities
Service Development and Management

Lead Service Provision: Participate in the development and continuous improvement of service delivery across both Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Bassetlaw District General Hospital.

Team Leadership: Provide professional guidance and support to pharmacy technician staff, pharmacy assistants, and trainees, ensuring high standards of practice are maintained.

Workload Management: Assist in the effective management of the main dispensary workload to meet performance standards and deadlines.
Staff Development and Mentoring

Training and Mentorship: Support the training and professional development of pharmacy staff, ensuring they acquire the skills necessary to excel in their roles.

Encourage Continuous Learning: Promote learning and development opportunities, including leadership programmes and additional qualifications like the BTEC Level 4 Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Services.
Collaborative Working

Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and trainees, to ensure the smooth operation of the dispensary and optimal patient outcomes.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Registered Pharmacy Technician: Proven experience in a hospital pharmacy setting with current GPhC registration.

Professional Development: Demonstrable commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

Supervisory Experience: Experience in training, mentoring, or supervising other staff members.

Educational Qualifications: BTEC Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Science with NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent).

Computer Literacy: Competence in using pharmacy management software and electronic prescribing systems.

Accredited Checking Technician: Hold an accredited checking technician qualification.
Desirable Experience

Experience with Automated Dispensing Systems: Knowledge of automated systems to streamline medication dispensing.

Familiarity with WellSky: Experience with the WellSky pharmacy system and e-prescribing platforms.
