Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Data Operations Management Officer to join our Data Design Service team. This critical role involves supporting the NHS Data Model and Dictionary Service, ensuring the smooth development, maintenance, and communication of NHS Information Standards.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a small team, manage data releases, and liaise with stakeholders across the healthcare system to enhance data operations and quality.


Key Responsibilities

  • Data Management: Oversee releases of the NHS Data Model and Dictionary, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Information Standards.
  • Communication: Disseminate updates on Information Standards Notices and Data Dictionary Change Notices across the NHS.
  • Collaboration: Work with multidisciplinary teams to drive cross-functional collaboration and align efforts with organizational goals.
  • Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain technical documentation, such as specifications and guidance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively communicate technical concepts and governance issues to non-technical audiences.

Essential Skills and Experience

Subject Matter Expertise (SME):

  • Demonstrated knowledge across various data operations disciplines, including data set collection, quality improvement, and operational development.

Teamwork:

  • Proven experience in a multidisciplinary environment, fostering collaboration with key stakeholders.

Technical Writing:

  • Expertise in creating and maintaining technical documentation, including specifications and guidelines.

Communication:

  • Strong ability to convey complex technical and governance concepts to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.

System Understanding:

  • Familiarity with information systems and data flows within the health and social care ecosystem.
