Key Responsibilities

As part of the People & Culture Directorate, your primary responsibilities include:

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Extracting, analyzing, and interpreting complex datasets using advanced tools such as Excel and SQL.
  • Developing detailed, actionable reports for various directorate teams.
  • Supporting statutory submissions and compliance with NHS data requirements.

Collaboration Across Teams

  • Working closely with the Workforce Information, EDI, and HR Operations teams to ensure alignment on data needs and reporting.
  • Providing insights to influence workforce planning and decision-making.

Ensuring Data Quality

  • Identifying and resolving data quality issues.
  • Implementing solutions to improve the integrity of datasets.

Process Improvement

  • Translating technical specifications into meaningful datasets and performance indicators.
  • Enhancing systems and reporting processes in alignment with organizational goals.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Writing comprehensive reports and presenting findings to internal stakeholders.
  • Making recommendations to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications, experience, and competencies:

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience in data analysis and reporting.

Essential Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in an information analysis and reporting environment.
  • Proficiency in managing data quality issues and developing robust solutions.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and macros.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Desirable Experience

  • Familiarity with NHS statutory returns and technical specifications.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, Cognos, or other reporting tools.

Essential Skills

  • Advanced IT and computer literacy.
  • Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to focus and work with detailed information.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of Prince II methodologies or similar project management approaches.
  • Understanding of clinical services and their interaction with data.
