Key Responsibilities: Protecting Healthcare Data and Systems
As a Cyber Security Analyst at RCHT, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest levels of security across the NHS’s digital infrastructure. Your duties will include:
- Monitoring Security Alerts: Actively monitor and analyse security alerts from multiple sources to identify and respond to cyber events and threats in real-time.
- Vulnerability Scanning: Collaborate with the team to develop and conduct vulnerability scanning, using insights to reduce cyber risks effectively.
- Incident Response: Be part of a 24/7/365 service team providing expertise in responding to cyber incidents, ensuring rapid containment and mitigation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with technical teams to develop practical solutions to reduce vulnerabilities and improve security posture across the healthcare system.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare reports on security incidents, analysis, and remediation activities, contributing to the ongoing development of the Trust’s cyber security strategy.
This role is essential for safeguarding both patient and organizational data in a rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape.
Required Qualifications and Experience
To thrive in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience:
Essential Qualifications:
- Degree-level education (preferably in Cyber Security) or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven commitment to ongoing professional development in cyber security.
Desirable Qualifications:
- ITIL Foundation certification.
- Technical certifications such as CISSP, CPSA, CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft SC-200.
Essential Experience:
- Hands-on experience in cyber security, including incident response and security alert management.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft Desktop Systems.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols and perimeter security.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience in the NHS or public sector cyber security environment.
- Familiarity with SIEM and XDR/EDR solutions.
- Exposure to vulnerability scanning and compliance reporting.
