Key Responsibilities
As a Control Room Operator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the security and safety of the Trust’s premises. Your main duties will include:
1. CCTV Monitoring and Incident Management

Monitor CCTV for safety events, detect suspicious behavior, and manage traffic flow within Trust property.

Conduct scheduled CCTV camera checks to ensure all systems are operational and that no incidents go unnoticed.

Lead responses to incidents on Trust property, coordinating with relevant teams and stakeholders.

Investigate suspicious behavior and criminal activities such as theft and anti-social behavior, documenting findings professionally.
2. Security and Parking Supervision

Oversee the day-to-day security and parking operations, ensuring high standards and smooth service delivery.

Supervise and guide the Security and Parking team, ensuring staff meet the required standards of professionalism and conduct.

Manage incident responses, acting as the primary contact during alarms, incidents, or security events until emergency services or senior management assume control.

Review security footage from body-worn cameras and assist in improving security practices based on incident reviews.
3. Access Control and Staff Support

Oversee ID access control systems, managing the creation and activation of staff passes and access cards.

Coordinate the allocation of duties and shift activities for the security team, ensuring operational efficiency.

Ensure all shift handovers are completed accurately, updating the incoming team on incident status and actions taken.
4. Fire and Emergency Management

Act as the central point of contact for fire alarm activations, liaising with Trust departments and emergency services to minimize risk to property and people.

Respond to emergency alarms and coordinate with relevant teams to ensure a swift and effective resolution.
5. Ongoing Training and Development

Participate in the delivery of scheduled NHS staff inductions, enhancing the security culture within the Trust.

At least 2 years of experience in security, with a focus on control room operations

Desirable Knowledge and Experience

Knowledge of PFI (Private Finance Initiative) and Shared Spaces.

Experience in performance management of staff.

Familiarity with ACU Management, Door/Barrier Management, and security systems.
