We are currently looking for a Community Healthcare Assistant to join our Out of Hours Crisis Response Team in Macclesfield. Job Summary
As a Community Healthcare Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Out of Hours team in delivering outstanding patient care. This position requires someone who is passionate about providing effective and compassionate care to individuals in the community. You will be expected to work 19 hours per week on flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and occasional night shifts.
This fixed-term role (6 months) offers the chance to develop your skills within a supportive and dynamic team, with a strong focus on personal development and training.
Key Responsibilities
As a Community Healthcare Assistant, your main duties will include:

Assisting with Nursing Care: You will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, effective nursing care under the supervision of registered professionals.

Direct Patient Support: Carry out assigned tasks such as assisting with personal care, mobility, and any other needs as delegated by a nurse in charge.

Promoting Self-Care: Ensure patients receive individualized care that supports their health and well-being while promoting self-care whenever possible.

Administrative Duties: Assist with necessary administrative tasks related to patient care.

Flexible Working: You will be required to work a variety of shifts, including evenings (18:00-22:00), weekends, and occasional night shifts (22:00-08:00), with pay enhancements for evening and night work.

Essential Qualifications:

A good standard of general education or equivalent experience.

Literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to meet the demands of the role.

A Care Certificate or a commitment to undertake this upon commencing the role.

NVQ Level 3 in Health/Social Care or equivalent experience.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

Previous experience in health/social care or a related field.

An understanding of the needs and circumstances of vulnerable adults and patients.

Ability to recognize the limitations of the role and seek guidance when needed.

A good understanding of self-care and self-management principles.

Skills & Abilities:

Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with patients, families, and team members effectively.

Computer literacy and experience using basic office software.

Team player with the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.

Ability to work on your own initiative while recognizing when to seek advice and support.

Desirable Experience:

Experience of working within a community setting or in a multi-disciplinary healthcare team.

Previous experience in a caring environment would be advantageous.
