Key Responsibilities of a Community Care Worker

As a Community Care Worker at Margarot Forrest Care Management Ltd, your role will involve providing personal care and assistance to individuals in their homes. You will be responsible for ensuring that your clients receive the highest standard of care, following both regulatory and customer requirements. Your tasks will be varied and include supporting clients with their daily activities, personal hygiene, and overall well-being.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with getting up and going to bed: Helping clients start and end their day in a safe and comfortable manner.
  • Personal Care: Bathing, showering, oral hygiene, skin care, and hair washing to ensure clients maintain proper hygiene.
  • Toileting and Continence Care: Assisting with toileting, catheter care, and continence support with dignity and respect.
  • Meal Preparation: Preparing nutritious meals tailored to the client’s preferences and dietary requirements.
  • Medication Prompts: Reminding clients to take their medication on time and in the correct dosage.
  • Moving and Handling: Safely using moving and handling equipment to assist clients with mobility.

  • GCSE or equivalent education is preferred, though not essential.

  • Previous experience in care at home or a similar role is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are important.
