Norfolk & Suffolk Foundation NHS Trust is seeking Clinical Support Workers (Band 3) to join our dedicated teams in Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich. You’ll work closely with service users, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and wellbeing, contributing to the exceptional care that our units are known for.

Salary: £24,071 – £25,674 gross per annum (pro rata)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 care and support for service users, including personal care and activities of daily living.
  • Conduct therapeutic observations and assist with physical health checks.
  • Support service users with community leave and engagement activities.
  • Understand and maintain appropriate boundaries when working with individuals with mental health diagnoses.
  • Collaborate with families, carers, and other departments within the acute care pathway.
  • Complete training in physical management of violence and aggression to handle challenging situations safely.

Main Work Locations

Bury St Edmunds

  • Southgate Ward: Adult Acute Inpatient Unit
  • Northgate Ward: Mixed-Sex Adult Acute Inpatient Unit

Ipswich (Woodlands Hospital)

  • Poppy, Avocet, Willows, and Lark Wards: Focus on later-life care and acute inpatient services.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

  • Education: NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent Diploma or Apprenticeship).
  • Experience: Previous care sector experience.
  • Skills: Ability to work independently while liaising effectively with team members.

Desirable:

  • Mental health experience.
  • VRQ Level 3 in Mental Health.
