Key Responsibilities
As a Chef at Binary Bar and Restaurant, your role will involve:
1. Cooking and Kitchen Management
- Prepare and cook modern, seasonal pub food, showcasing your passion for fresh ingredients and high-quality dishes.
- Work closely with the Head Chef to contribute ideas for new menu development and kitchen management.
- Ensure kitchen operations run smoothly, maintaining high standards of food preparation and presentation.
2. Team Leadership and Development
- Lead a small kitchen team, motivating them to maintain company standards while promoting a positive work environment.
- Assist in the training and development of junior team members, passing on your knowledge and skills.
- Manage stock rotation and ordering to maintain kitchen efficiency and reduce waste.
3. Health & Safety Compliance
- Comply with all food hygiene regulations and ensure cleanliness in all food preparation and work areas.
- Ensure that the kitchen adheres to Health & Safety guidelines, safeguarding both staff and customers.
4. Working Under Pressure
- Maintain performance under pressure, ensuring that food quality and timing meet the standards even during busy periods.
- Demonstrate the ability to manage tasks independently, particularly during peak hours.
Qualifications and Skills
To thrive in this role, we are seeking candidates who possess:
1. Culinary Expertise
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within a high-turnover business.
- Strong ability to work with fresh ingredients and cook modern, seasonal dishes that elevate pub dining.
- A passion for food creativity, with the ability to contribute ideas for specials and new dishes.
2. Leadership Abilities
- Proven experience in leading a small kitchen team, providing motivation, guidance, and constructive feedback.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
3. Health and Safety Knowledge
- A good understanding of food hygiene and Health & Safety practices within the kitchen.
- Ability to ensure that the kitchen operates safely and complies with legal requirements.
4. Visa Sponsorship Eligibility
- You must have a minimum of 6 months remaining on your current visa to be eligible for skilled worker visa sponsorship.
