About the Role: Care Assistant

As a Care Assistant at Caremark Southampton, you’ll be responsible for providing personal care and companionship to our clients. Your role will be dynamic and rewarding, as each day brings different challenges and opportunities to make a difference in someone’s life.


Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Care Assistant, your daily tasks may vary depending on the individual needs of the people you care for. Here are some of the key responsibilities you can expect:

1. Personal Care and Support

  • Assist with washing and dressing to ensure clients are comfortable and maintain their dignity.
  • Help clients with mobility and encourage independence in daily activities.
  • Provide companionship and engage in meaningful conversations to enhance emotional well-being.

2. Medication Management

  • Support clients with medication reminders and assist with taking prescribed medications when needed.
  • Ensure medication is administered according to the prescribed schedule.

3. Household Support

  • Assist with meal preparation, ensuring clients receive nutritious meals that meet their dietary needs.
  • Help with shopping, ensuring that clients have the essentials they need for daily living.

4. Community Access & Social Activities

  • Encourage clients to participate in social activities and assist with accessing the community for leisure and appointments.
  • Foster social interaction and help clients maintain connections with friends and family.

5. Providing Emotional Support

  • Offer general companionship, ensuring clients feel valued and connected.
  • Support clients through challenging times, offering empathy and understanding.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking caring and dedicated individuals who have a genuine passion for supporting others. While experience in the care sector is a plus, it is not required. We are happy to provide full training for those who are new to the field. Ideal candidates will possess:

Key Qualifications & Skills:

  • A full UK or EU/EEA driving license and access to a vehicle (if you do not have a vehicle, we provide discounts on electric scooters and bus passes).
  • A caring attitude with the ability to offer companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with clients, family members, and the team.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow care plans accurately.
  • The ability to work independently and take initiative while maintaining a professional and compassionate approach.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
