Key Responsibilities
As a CAMHS Intensive Home Treatment Worker, you will:
- Provide Specialist Mental Health Care: Assess, plan, and deliver high-quality care for young people with complex mental health needs, working closely with families and other professionals.
- Manage Caseloads Independently: You’ll be expected to take responsibility for your own caseload, working autonomously while adhering to the guidelines and protocols set by the Trust.
- Collaborate Across Services: Work alongside professionals from various disciplines, including health, social care, and education, to ensure holistic support for children and families.
- Engage with ‘Hard to Reach’ Clients: Utilize innovative techniques to engage young people and families in their care, including those who are difficult to reach or resistant to treatment.
- Participate in Clinical Supervision: Receive and provide clinical supervision as part of a well-established program to ensure the highest standards of care.
- Contribute to Service Development: Play a key role in shaping the future of CAMHS services within the Trust, offering input into service evaluations and audits.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential

Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Social Worker, or Registered Occupational Therapist (OT).
- Degree or Diploma in the relevant profession.
- Post-basic training in child and adolescent mental health.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.

Experience:
- At least two years post-qualification experience in a relevant field (mental health, social care, education).
- Experience in service development and working knowledge of CAMHS and related sectors (health, social care, education, criminal justice).
- Competent in mental health risk assessments and formulating care plans in collaboration with clients and families.
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualification in child and adolescent mental health.
- Experience in service evaluation, clinical supervision, and user involvement in service development.
- Extensive knowledge of child development, mental health, and pharmacology in CAMHS.

- Core Clinical Skills: Strong communication skills, the ability to assess mental health difficulties, and knowledge of current legislation related to CAMHS.
- Engagement Ability: Skilled at working with hard-to-reach clients in both clinical and non-clinical settings.
- Personal Qualities: Compassionate, respectful, and empathetic in all interactions.
- Transport: A full, current driving license and access to a vehicle, or suitable alternative arrangements for disabled applicants.
Desirable
- Experience in clinical supervision, training delivery, and research participation.
- A deeper understanding of adolescent mental health development and the criminal justice system.
