The Estates department within UWE Bristol is responsible for the maintenance and development of over 150 buildings across multiple campuses. The BIM Coordinator will play a key role in supporting this function by ensuring that building information remains accurate and up-to-date.


The Role: BIM Coordinator

As a BIM Coordinator at UWE Bristol, you will be part of a dynamic team within the Estates Department, focusing on managing and updating building information systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the university’s capital investment projects and maintenance, ensuring the smooth operation of more than 150 buildings and facilities across campuses.

Your primary responsibility will be to maintain master models and sets of building drawings, ensuring that all information is accurately recorded in UWE systems. This includes working closely with internal and external stakeholders, understanding their needs, and establishing workflows to enhance current data management processes. You will also contribute to the development of BIM (Building Information Modeling) strategies within the department.


Key Responsibilities

1. Maintaining and Updating BIM Models

  • Keep the master models and drawing sets up-to-date across UWE’s digital platforms.

  • Ensure that all building information aligns with the university’s operational and maintenance requirements.

2. Collaboration with Stakeholders

  • Work with internal teams and external stakeholders to understand their needs and implement improvements to workflows and data management.

  • Coordinate and manage input/output of data, ensuring accuracy at all stages.

3. Data Management and Reporting

  • Manage BIM-related data and assist in creating roadmaps to streamline information workflows.

  • Regularly update and upload files to relevant UWE systems and ensure consistent data integrity.

4. Time and Workload Management

  • Prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and maintain workflow efficiency.

  • Demonstrate a proactive approach when managing workloads independently.

5. Training and Career Development

  • Take part in training opportunities to grow professionally within the role.

  • Work collaboratively with team members to share knowledge and expertise.


Who Are We Looking For?

To succeed in this role, you will need to be passionate about the digital transformation of the construction industry, particularly in the context of estate management. You should have hands-on experience with Revit or similar BIM software and possess a keen eye for detail. Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently are crucial to excel in this role.

  • Proficiency in Revit or other BIM software.
